FUEL IN SPAIN

Spain is located on the Iberian Peninsula and plays a huge role in the boating industry of the Mediterranean. With its rich boating history dating back to the sponsored expedition of Christopher Columbus in 1492, Spain is no stranger to the maritime industry. In the last decade, Spain’s Mediterranean coast and islands have seen tremendous development in yachting facilities with new marinas being built everywhere.

The majority of luxury superyacht charters in Spain focus its alluring Mediterranean coast where yachting hubs such as Barcelona and Valencia act as springboards to more than 1,030 miles of diverse coastline. In addition, close proximity to the Balearic Islands promotes the idea of quick weekend getaways and beautiful beaches. The four largest Balearic Islands are Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. There are a number of ferry routes that link them to mainland Spain as well as to each other.

The Port of Valencia is the fifth busiest seaport in Europe and the largest port in Spain. In 2007, the Port of Valencia handled 53,592,859 tons of cargo and was visited by over 7,200 vessels. The countries second largest port, the Port of Algeciras, is the seventh largest port in Europe. Despite the heavy ship track, whales and dolphins are known to swim into the port from time to time.

Mediterranean Fuels is ecstatic to supply and distribute fuels and lubricants to customers throughout Spain. Mediterranean Fuels supplies only the finest Intermediate Fuel Oil (IFO, RME180, & RMG380) and Marine Gas Oil (MGO, bunker fuel) to ocean-going vessels in any of Spain's ports. In addition, we proudly supply and Aviation Fuel at most of Spain's 47 public airports.

Mediterranean Fuels is ready to assist its customer in key ports across Spain and the Mediterranean Region. We supply our products in all Spanish ports and in the nearby countries of Gibraltar, Morocco, and France. We look forward to seeing you and assisting you with all of your fueling needs.
